  1. Kia Ora Precious,

It is wonderful to see that you have been so active with the Summer Learning Journey programme posting activities for both Week #1 and Week #2. Wow - you are already halfway through the programme. That is amazing!

I really loved this post because, like you, I really like to read. It is so peaceful and calming, isn't it? It also allows you to slip into a new world and to be transported to another place for a little while. I enjoy using my imagination when I read. Do you have a favourite author? I am currently reading books that are written by people about their lives. They are called autobiographies. I love reading about people's lives as they are often really entertaining and full of wild adventures and crazy stories!

I hope that you have the chance to do some quiet reading this week at your house. Will you do anything special for New Year's Eve tomorrow night? We are going to get together with friends for a barbecue. It'll be pretty low-key and laidback as I am working each day with the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) programme so I can't be up too late or away for too long!

Speaking of the SLJ, I really hope that you will continue to post activities throughout January. Our whole team is looking forward to reading them already!

    Bye for now :)

    Rachel
