Vincent Van Gogh

 

Today we did one of Vincent Van Gogh's most priced art's in the world.This specific art was called The starry night, it was pretty difficult because of the specific kind of technique that he used was quite EXTRAORDINARY and different, really different to most people who hasn't use his techniques before.

It was very interesting while I was repainting his painting of the starry night, I made a few mistake here and there but it turned out quite well.On Friday 4 December my school will be doing a like art gallery show and my paintings will be up on the board which is pretty great.

I did another painting that has a bit of Mr Van Gogh's technique's in it which is actually pretty cool and amazing.

Facts about The Niue Culture, And the Niue island

Niue Island/Culture:Facts:
1.The capital of Niue is called alofi,it is also the second smallest part of the island with the shortest population of people in it.
2. 90% of the population of the Niue culture/people live in New Zealand.
3.The currency (which is known as the money) is the New Zealand dollar.

People that are famous in Niue:
4.John Pule.he is a famous artist in Niue and is well known around there because of his great artist.
5. Shimpal Lelisi. She is a New Zealand citizen but is naturally from Niue, she is famous in Niue because she is one of the top actors on a Samoan TV show. 
6.Vela Manusaute. This man is popular for his writing and directing, he is a famous and well known guy for his talents in his career. 

Other Facts about Niue:
7. They have nice, good food over there which is, Coco Nut, Mango, and much more island food.
8. In Niue if someone were to drive you wouldn't have any traffic or traffic lights, because there are none there.
9. There are 14 in total, of villages in Niue.
10. Niue is a lovely island to visit and there are much more to learn about Niue, Enjoy.

 On Monday the first day of school our school had our immersion assembly we had so many people doing acts and telling the children about what we were doing and what we were going to be learning about for term 4.Our theme for this term is, Art Alive.Team 1 told us about some special painters from the past and what they did to become who they are.Team 2 made each teacher out of shapes.Team 3 made a special art out of water guns but they had color in it.Team 4 showed us what they were going to do for there team on Google meets.Team 5 which is the last one showed us about special people from the past that made art even when they didn't get much compliments for there art,they still carried on and achieved more,that was amazing and it was my favorite one yet.

THE STORY OF THE KAVA:

Once a small island there was a family of three,(Mum,Dad,Daughter),and they have been living on
that island for a very long time.Once there was a king and his men who arrived to the island and
they were hungry and tired,so the kings men searched for some food on the island while the king
sat down next to a tree and rested.The kings men saw the Mum,and Dad walking and so one of the
kings men asked for some food for the king to eat.The Dad offered to make some food for them to eat,
and so he did.They didn’t know what to make for the king,and the Dad told the Mum what he wanted to
do.The Mum started having tears going down her cheek and her cry was louder then the trees were
singing.The Dad went to the daughter and killed her so she could help make the plant called kava grow,
and so from that day on the plant grew and grew for 2 years and it was super big for them to eat.

Year 7 Step Up.

                                                                           STEP UP: 

 Last week for three days the year 7 people had so much fun because we participated in the Step Up program. The year 8's were gone to camp so it was finally time for the year 7's to step up for the rest of week 3. My group was called the strikers and we had so much fun, we learnt each other's talents we learnt how to work together as a team and we learnt much more.My 2 leaders in my team were, Sauma & Bradley.

My number one highlight was when we all got into our A & B groups and got to do a singing challenge, so Mrs Ilaoa gave us a category about what we had to sing and we had so much fun, My team was the B team and we gave each other ideas and songs about what we should sing.Even though we lost everything single singing round we still learnt a lot about each other and had so much fun. 

one thing I'm going to do now is get each other's other sides and learn about them more and try and be confident to learn more.

                                                      IM. ASSEMBLY.

Today is the first day of Term 3. We Started the day off by talking about what was going to happen for the day.A few minutes later we went to an Immersion assembly.Mr Burt started talking about the hats and much more stuff that he started collecting every time he went on a trip.Then after that we got to see all of the Team 1’s to Team 5’s act. My favorite one of all would probably have to be Team 4. They were explaining and talking about what types of food they ate were from.It had a little bit of comedy and some great ideas for people to learn a lot about food,and other peoples culture. I really enjoyed the welcome back to Pt England assembly that we did.
